The Stories That Sparkle
The Stories That Sparkle is a series of intimate conversations I have with women of all ages and from all walks of life, cultures and lifestyles, about how they deal with changes and loss, balance family, friends and/or career, pursue big and small dreams, and, of course, how they feel at home (or not) in their bodies—you know, all the things. The more I listen to them use more of their voices, the more I find more of my own. Because together, we bring light into dark places.
The Hella Fabulous Show (2008-2010)
For two years, every Wednesday morning from 8-10am, Ruth and I made our sometimes irreverent, always insightful way through the internet airwaves from a storefront studio on 1st Avenue in the East Village, NYC.
We did our own booking, producing, editing and studio tech. We created and managed our own RSS feeds post-production. We ran our own marketing and hosted live events. We were a one-stop shop. Neither of us were morning people; Twitter had just emerged; and Blackberries were still de riguer. We were podcasting before podcasting.
We interviewed authors, musicians, activists, comedians, journalists, reality TV stars, and doctors. We had full bands perform live in-studio and on stage. And we tried to mind-meld with Jimmy Fallon. We were two clever beavers (with a pendant to prove it) who were ahead of our time or mayhaps, right on time.
